What made you join Tile Hill, and what's kept you here?

What initially drew me to Tile Hill was its approach to recruitment and the sectors it supports. Before joining, I'd worked in schools, SEND settings and sports coaching, and even focused my dissertation on improving opportunities for young people with SEND through sport. Tile Hill's specialist approach meant I could build on that experience rather than start from scratch, which really appealed to me.

I was also drawn to the focus on candidate experience. As a graduate, I remember how challenging and stressful job hunting can be, and I knew I wanted to be part of a business that genuinely cared about making that process better. What's kept me here is the opportunity to help people find roles that are right for them while working in a sector that has a real impact on communities.

What's surprised you most about working here?

The biggest surprise has been the level of support I've received in developing my career from Associate Consultant to my recent promotion to Consultant. From day one, there's been a real commitment to training, development and helping me build confidence in my role.

What stands out is how much time experienced colleagues invest in helping others succeed. Everyone is busy and highly knowledgeable, but people still make time to share advice, answer questions and support your development. That personal approach has helped me grow much more quickly than I expected and has made a huge difference in my first years in recruitment.

What would you tell someone thinking about joining the team?

Come in with an open mind, because it probably isn't what you'd expect recruitment to be like.

One of the biggest surprises for me has been how relationship-driven the work is. It's about understanding people, building trust and helping organisations and candidates find the right fit, rather than simply filling vacancies. The culture is collaborative, inclusive and genuinely interested in the sectors we support.

If you're someone who cares about making a difference, enjoys learning and wants to work somewhere that invests in your development, you'll find it's a much better fit than you might expect.
